Bachelour's degree in Biological Sciences and a Certificate in International Technology and Society from the Department of Social Sciences in May 1998.

Some Interesting Courses I've taken:

Plant Morphology, Physiological Plant Ecology (BL521), Plant Taxonomy, Techniques in Genetics, Paleoecology, Microbiology, Limnology, Mycology, Virology, Population Genetics, Microbial Ecology.

I took the experimental Mathematica Intensive Calculus Series (MA150-250).

(Note these are mostly from my undergraduate years I also finished a Master's degree as you can see above look at the transcript above for the classes I took then).

Past Jobs:

Worked as Camp Store Manager at a Boy Scout Camp one summer.
Worked at a Grocery Store at various times as either a janitor or stocking shelves.
Pruned Christmas trees for a few weeks.
Worked in Work Study for Biology Department last summer under Tom Rodeheffer and Jeff Lewin doing various maintenance, moving stuff around, Chemical Inventory, and database entry. Also received MSDS training during this job.

�Current job (During the school year) :

Computer Lab Consultant for Math Department.

My main job is answering general Mathematica, Netscape, and other software questions in computer labs for math majors and also a very large number of nonmajor students taking the Calculus (and now Differential equations too) with Mathematica series (MA160-310). Operating systems used in this department are UNIX and MacOS and even the as they come up. I also had the opportunity to work as a TA for one of the MA160 lab sections for one term.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

I would best describe my laboratory and computer skills (including proficiency with specific laboratory instruments, research protocols, computer hardware and software) as the following:

I have a number of years of experience dealing with general user questions with Unix and MacOS (7.5 mostly) OS's as well as the Mathematica software package from being a lab consultant for Math department computer lab. I have a proficiency in general microspy techniques and sterile culture, and various other microbiological plating, counting, characterization techniques from taking a number of classes dealing with culturable organisms. From general use and curiosity on my own time I feel I have become very confident in the use of the Microsoft Windows 95/NT operating systems, MSDOS, and some experiences with IBM's OS/2, and I am beginning to probe the mysteries of LINUX. I have enough html knowledge to create a web page by hand coding and know how to implement various editors. I have had some experience and a couple classes that have dealt with programming in C++, BASIC, and Mathematica. I will have taken two classes dealing with GIS, one a general course that used ERDAS's Imagine and ESRI's ArcView and a second one using ESRI's ArcInfo to model the hydrology of watersheds. I have had one summer's experience using the Fisons Instruments' NA1500 NC nitrogen and carbon analyzer and would feel comfortable using this piece of equipment. I have had a course that dealt with general experimental procedures of different techniques used by genetic engineering such as PCR, plasmid purification, and restriction mapping. I have had experience using taxonomic keys for the identification of microbes, plants, and fungi.

Past Jobs:

I was a Computer Lab Consultant for Math Department. (4 years experience 10-25 hours/week):

�Some Skills:

I have worked fairly extensively with the MSDOS, MSWindows (3.x), OS/2 3.0 (Warp) and Windows95 operating systems during my own time.
I have had to be able to answer users questions about software and general function and commands for the MacIntosh, UNIX, and even NeXT Operating Environments as part of my job as a lab consultant for the Math Department .

I have some programming knowledge in C++, BASIC, and also some programming in Mathematica. I have worked with pretty extensively with Mathematica. Used or helped others use it for my entire five years at this University.
I know HTML at a fair level (enough to come up with an O.K. page fairly quickly anyway) and have not yet taken the time to learn how to use some of the newer :).
I've had some Life Guard Training and First Aid and CPR training at various times. I am not currently certified.
I can swim pretty well, and have thought about getting certified in diving in the past, but haven't found the time to attend the classes.
I have some ability to sketch and sporadically can draw artistically. Some examples of what I've drawn can be found here

�Other Misc. activities:

I've volunteered as a UTA for one of Janice Glime's BL101 lab sections.
Been a representative of the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) for one year.
I was president of the Model United Nations Club at MTU.
I have been a part of the Wind Symphony, Bioclub, PFRC, and the R&D Jazz Band at various times at MTU.
DJ for WMTU for 3 terms plus subbing during the summer term.

Michigan Competitive Scholarship (From getting ACT of 29).

I received various Science and English Merit Awards in H.S.
